What’s New

Practice of medicine has changed over the years causing systematic issues contributing to physician burnout, and COVID 19 pandemic has provided spotlight into importance of physician wellbeing. It is recognized that stress and burnout start at the medical school, and it continues to increase during residency and into early career practice. It is a time to health care practitioners and systems to embrace much needed changes. As someone with a background of eastern philosophy and Buddhism I firmly believe positive impact of mindfulness and compassion for individual lives, patient interactions, leadership, and team dynamics. Evidence suggests how self-compassion improve positive psychology. I am very excited to be part of this group.
